ABOUT THIS COMPILATION:
I was fortunate enough to be a part of this amazing benefit compilation to benefit a great cause. The comp features an early alternate recording of my song '84 Rookie Card which was written about my friend Gordon Riker who passed away in a tragic bicycle accident in 2007. The proceeds of the sale of this record after physical costs will go to an organization called Helping Everyone Live Longer, H.E.L.L. for short, a Boston, MA non-profit dedicated to providing free bike helmets to any resident who needs or wants one. Pick one up, it's for a great cause that means a lot to me.
Thank you, Brian

In 2007, Gordon Riker & Kelly Wallace both tragically passed away in bike accidents in Boston, MA. Shortly after, friends of their's started a non-profit organization titled H.E.L.L. (Helping Everyone Live Longer). H.E.L.L. is a DIY group that primarily operates in Boston's punk and hardcore scene that both Gordon and Kelly were heavily involved in. H.E.L.L.'s main goal is to give out free helmets from donations while raising bike safety awareness.

This compilation features songs and artwork from Gordon and Kelly's friends, family, and favorite bands, as well as a few others who have lost someone close to them. Contributions are not just primarily from the Greater Boston area, but also Florida, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Quebec. All proceeds from this compilation will go directly to helping keep H.E.L.L. alive.

’84 Rookie Card
Lyrics by Brian Marquis

Didn't care for Jesus Christ

God or heaven above

He believed in something deeper

He believed in one love

His heart and mind

Strong and sharp

Stop on a dime

He belongs down here with us

Sometimes life gets caught up in the spokes

Like a 1984 rookie card

You could spend your whole life

Waiting to decide

Which road is best to take

Which one is mine

Better to be black and blue

From living life through and through

The wheels keep spinning 'round and 'round

Sometimes life gets caught up in the spokes

Like a 1984 rookie card

"When forever comes crashing" in

Wings unbound, you start falling

The ground rushes for your head

Before it's all said and done

We'll always be missing one

He left us with just one request

Home is where the heart is

Even when it's underground

Sometimes life gets caught up in the spokes

Like a 1984 rookie card
